Taxon Description:
This vigorous hybrid occurs where the parents grow together but was first described from a tree at Arboretum Trompenburg. The lanceolate leaves to 13 cm long vary between those of the parent species. They are usually larger and more irregularly lobed than Q. libani. Acorns large, the cup with the scales of Q. cerris but shorter.This hybrid grows vigorously here. One, eighteen years old, is now 12 m tall and is the UK Champion Tree.
