Taxon Description:
A spreading evergreen tree to 15 m tall with glabrous shoots. Leaves untoothed, elliptic to lanceolate, to 10 cm long and 5 cm wide, tapered to a point at the tip and narrowed at the base to a stalk of up to 4 cm long, green on both sides. Acorns nearly rounded, with a short point at the tip, to 2 cm long, ripening the second year. It has reached 9 m at Caerhays, Cornwall.
