Taxon Description:
Closely related to Q. argyrotricha but with smooth shoots and larger leaves to 14 cm long. The acorn cup is covered in whitish hairs and has 4-5 rings. Introduced by Allen Coombes from Yunnan in 1998.It has grown well here to more than 1.5 m tall and has attractive red young foliage.
