Taxon Description:
A species with a restricted distribution in coastal hills and scrub. It makes a shrub to 2.5 m tall with small, spiny leaves to 2.5 cm long, glossy green above and covered with grey hairs beneath. Most plants originally grown under this name are probably the more widely distributed Q. berberidifolia.
